Final Whitton Expressway design, plans OK’d

The Federal Highway Administration has given Missouri’s Transportation Department the authority to move ahead with final designs and plans for improving the Rex Whitton Expressway through Jefferson City.

The approval followed a final review of the Environmental Impact Statement, or EIS, on possible changes to U.S. 50/63 from the Tri-Level interchange east to Eastland Drive, including the major intersections at Missouri Boulevard, Broadway, Jefferson, Monroe and Madison streets, and the interchange at Clark Avenue.
