The deadline to purchase commemorative bricks for the Veterans Plaza by Memorial Day is May 6.
Bricks are $100 each and may be purchased at Jefferson City Finance Department in City Hall, 320 E. McCarty St. Applications are also available at www.jeffcitymo.org.
A Department of Defense form D214 or other equivalent documentation of service and honorable discharge must be presented with the application and payment.
Veterans Plaza serves as a memorial to veterans of the Korean and Vietnam wars, and was erected in 1983 through the Jefferson City Veterans Council and through private donations on a site provided by Jefferson City. In 2006, the memorial was moved to its current location in front of the Jefferson City Police Department, 401 Monroe St.
