Thanks Mary Schantz for leaping on the yard waste issue after the very successful effort to maintain the excellent trash service we currently enjoy.
The elective option of monthly curbside pick up of yard waste landed on the cutting-room floor when the current system went into effect but it is time to readdress this issue, to assist those of us with lots of tree limbs and clippings that we currently have to haul without benefit of appropriate vehicles to say nothing of energy and strength to the wellmanaged city site.
Ms. Schantz makes a number of good points about the need to revisit this issue, one of which is promoting it, assuming Allied would be willing to implement this program if it gets enough subscribers.
I hope our new mayor and the entire council, new and returning members, will soon address this issue.
