Eastern Missouri post office destroyed in explosion

DOE RUN, Mo. (AP) - An investigation continues into an explosion that destroyed an eastern Missouri post office.

The blast occurred early Saturday at Doe Run. No one was hurt.

St. Francois County deputy Josh Rennie told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the cause of the explosion was unclear, though it could have been a lightning strike to a propane tank. The federal Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agency and state fire marshal office are investigating.
