130-year-old St. Thomas church dedicating new altar

After eight years, the altar at St. Thomas The Apostle Church is complete.

Intermittently throughout the last eight years, parishioner and cabinetmaker Wayne Werdehausen has built custom cabinetry, display cases and ornate altar pieces for the church.

On Easter Sunday, the last of the pieces - an ambo, also known as a pulpit, and a stand for the statue of St. Thomas - were being unveiled and dedicated.

Though it has been brought up to date in the last 130 years, the church still showcases its original ....
