A second case investigated by a former Cole County sheriff's deputy, now himself indicted on drug- and stealing-related charges, was dismissed in open court Wednesday.
Andrew Rank, 50, of 4600 Twin Bridges, had been charged in June 2010 with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of anhydrous ammonia and possession of methamphetamine.
The charges came after a raid involving the MUSTANG Drug Task Force. Steven Thompson, then a member of the task force, wrote the probable cause statement in the Rank case.
