Emporia State takes doubleheader from Lincoln

EMPORIA, Kan. — The Emporia State Hornets ripped Lincoln pitching for 29 runs in two games while sweeping a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association baseball doubleheader Sunday.

Emporia State, the fourth-ranked team in Division II, blasted Lincoln 14-3 in the seven-inning opener.

The Hornets scored three runs in both the first and second innings and then six in the third to take all the drama out of the game early.

The Blue Tigers scored one run in the first and two in the second to account for all of their scoring.
