Wednesday's MLS Capsules

SANDY, Utah (AP) - Fabian Espindola scored in the 93rd minute and Real Salt Lake beat the Colorado Rapids 1-0 on Wednesday night to remain unbeaten in Major League Soccer play.

Nick Rimando earned his 76th shutout, tying Zach Thornton for second on the MLS list.

Real Salt Lake (4-0-0) has won 18 consecutive regular-season games, moving within one of matching the MLS record. It faces Portland on April 30 and hosts Chivas USA on May 7.

RSL extended its home unbeaten streak against MLS opponents to 27 games, winning another close match against the defending MLS champion Rapids (3-2-0). Four of the previous six games between the two rivals had been decided by a goal scored after the 88th minute.

Javier Morales set up Espindola when he fired a shot that bounced off the right post. Espindola emerged with the ball after a scramble and sent the winner inside the post.

Toronto FC 0, Galaxy 0

TORONTO (AP) - Toronto FC extended its unbeaten streak to four games by playing a scoreless draw against midfielder David Beckham and the Galaxy.

It was Beckham's first game in Toronto since the 2008 MLS All-Star game. The Galaxy captain unveiled one of his famous free kicks in the 70th minute. He curled the ball around the Toronto wall, but sent it off the post to the left of goalkeeper Stefan Frei.

Substitute Joao Plata had a great chance for Toronto FC (1-1-3) late in the second half, but his header off a free kick was stopped by Donovan Ricketts.

Los Angeles (2-1-3) controlled the play early on with midfielder Sean Franklin testing Frei in the opening minute. Franklin had a chance from just inside the box, but Frei went to his left to make the save.
