This past February marked the 100-year anniversary of the fire that destroyed the state Capitol in 1911.

Next year will mark the 100-year anniversary of Jefferson City having a full-time fire department to serve the city.

Speaking to a meeting of Downtown Jefferson Inc., Fire Capt. Tim Young said they are looking to do a celebration on the weekend of Oct. 7, 2012.
