11 selected for pilgrimage

Eleven area students will participate in the 77th annual Sophomore Pilgrimage on Tuesday.

The event is sponsored by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Missouri and will include observing the legislature in session and tours of the Capitol, Governor’s Mansion and Supreme Court building. Students will also participate in a luncheon at the First United Methodist Church.

Selection is based on a student’s demonstrated citizenship, scholarship and leadership and qualities of courage, service and honor. The students must be in the top quarter of their class.

Local GFWC of Missouri Dianas Club is responsible for organization of the event.
