Travis Dean Higgins, 31, California, was found dead about 7 a.m. Thursday at the edge of a gravel alley off Stella Street between East and Taylor streets.

Higgins, who was found by contractors who were going to work at a nearby house, was wearing soiled, torn sweat pants, a T-shirt and jacket. His face was badly beaten with cuts, bruises and abrasions.

According to Patrol Sgt. Paul Reinsch, an autopsy was performed at 10 a.m. Friday. “The results will probably be available early next week,” he said.
