Man charged in stabbing death of Lake Area woman

Blood samples found in a car and positive DNA profile matches led to a first-degree murder charge against an Osage Beach man in the October stabbing death of Adrianna Hyten.

According to Camden County Medical Examiner Dr. James J. Jungles, autopsy results confirmed that Hyten, 21, of Osage Beach, who was found dead in her apartment Oct. 10, died from multiple stab wounds to the neck.

Gregory Lucas George, 23, of Osage Beach, was arrested Wednesday and charged in Hyten's death. Since the incident in October, George has been held at the Miller County Jail on unrelated charges. George is currently being held without bond at the Camden County Jail.

In addition to the first-degree murder charge, George has also been charged with armed criminal action, according to the Osage Beach Department of Public Safety.

According to the October police report, Osage Beach police with assistance from the Osage Beach Fire Protection and Ambulance districts responded to 1167 Mace Road in Osage Beach at 11:21 a.m. Oct. 10 in response to a deceased 21-year-old female, who was seen lying on the floor.

At the time, George shared the apartment with Hyten and was being held at the Camden County Jail on a probation violation from a previous felony conviction.

According to a probable cause statement from the Camden County Circuit Court, Hyten and George had lived together and that she had started a relationship with another man. According to the statement, in a series text messages on in the early morning hours Oct. 10, George had attempted to re-establish his relationship with Hyten. However, she had resisted, and at one point threatened to contact the police.

According to the probable cause statement, blood found in George's vehicle was determined by the Missouri Highway Patrol to be from the victim, leading to George's arrest.

George is a registered sex offender. In November 2005, he was convicted of first-degree attempted child molestation of a 13-year-old female. He was 18 at the time of the offense, the patrol reported.
