Your Opinion: Used book sale support appreciated

Dear Editor:

Thank you to our community. This year’s ABLE (Adult Basic Literacy Education) and MRRL (Missouri River Regional Library) annual used book sale was again a great success!

We would not be able to hold the sale each year without the support of the volunteers who sort over 130,000 donated books throughout the year. Additional volunteers from the community help during the sale. Thousands of hours are given by members of the community to make this sale successful.

All proceeds from the sale are divided between ABLE and MRRL. ABLE assists adults, in a confidential setting, who cannot read or who need help improving their reading skills. MRRL uses their portion of the funds to buy new materials and to support library services.

If you have books, music, movies, puzzles, or games you would like to donate, please bring these items to the library anytime throughout the year. Mark your calendars. The 2012 sale is March 14-17 at the St. Martins Knights of Columbus Hall.

Again, many thanks to everyone who donated books, volunteered their time, and purchased items at the sale. We appreciate your continued support!
