UPDATE: Man charged in Osage Beach woman's stabbing death

Woman was found dead in Mace Road residence in October

Blood samples found in a car and positive DNA profile matches led to a first degree murder charge against an Osage Beach man in the October 2010 stabbing death of Adrianna Hyten.

According to the Camden County Medical Examiner Dr. James J. Jungles, autopsy results confirmed that Hyten, 21 of Osage Beach, who was found dead in her apartment Oct. 10, died from multiple stab wounds to the neck.

Gregory Lucas George, 23 of Osage Beach, was arrested April 6 and charged in Hyten's death. Since the incident in October, George has been held at the Miller County Sheriff's Department on unrelated charges. George is currently being held without bond at Camden County Jail.

In addition to the first degree murder charge, George has also been charged with armed criminal action, according to the Osage Beach Department of Public Safety.

According to the October police report, Osage Beach Police with assistance from the Osage Beach Fire Protection and Ambulance districts responded to 1167 Mace Road in Osage Beach at about 11:21 a.m. Oct. 10 in response to a deceased 21-year-old female, who was seen lying on the floor.

The Osage Beach Fire Protection District units gained entry into the apartment.

At the time, George shared the apartment with Hyten and was being held at the Camden County Jail on a probation violation from a previous felony conviction.

According to a probable cause statement from the Camden County Circuit Court, Hyten and George had a personal and sexual relationship and lived together; she

had started a new personal and sexual relationship with another man. According to the statement, in a series text message conversations on in the early morning hours Oct. 10 George had attempted to re-establish the relationship between he and Hyten. However, she had resisted, even at one point threatened to contact the police.

According to the probable cause statement, blood evidence found in George's vehicle was processed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and determined to be that of the victim, leading to his arrest.

George is a registered sex offender and is listed on the MSHP website. In November 2005, George was convicted of first degree attempted child molestation of a 13-year-old female. He was 18 years old at the time of the offense, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

The crime was investigated by the Osage Beach police officers, Det. Kevin Friend and officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
