Southern Missouri pilot dies in plane crash

WEST PLAINS, Mo. (AP) — A plane has crashed in southern Missouri field, killing the pilot.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said 75-year-old Bennie Andre, of West Plains was pronounced dead at the scene of Saturday morning’s crash near the Willow Springs municipal airport.

The Springfield News-Leader reported that Andre had been flying a conventional ultralight plane and had a hanger in Willow Springs.
