Your Opinion: Do disasters forefell doom?

Dear Editor:

Poor Adam and Eve, they really started the downfall of years to come in the form of the modern-day man with their shenanigans. And I even bet the Good Lord is looking down upon the earthlings wondering why he even gave any thought to putting man on the planet Earth.

Look around you. I see a pattern beginning to form here around us. It will take some time but I think the Good Lord is working his natural wonders in numerous ways that are unfolding before us now at this very moment.

These natural wonders he first created for the world as a whole. Remember the once great and most powerful Roman Empire that earthquakes and fires, along with man's greed, He destroyed. Think about not only the three just mentioned but the floods, landslides, hurricanes, storms, icy conditions and tornadoes, which again with man's tomfoolery, such as sinister motives, killings and assassinations, stealing, lying and all other underhanded practiced that surely will seal our doom. You can draw your own conclusions.

There is hardly a place on earth at this very moment that is not involved in one or more of the above-listed problems. Mankind is bringing about our own destruction. He realizes that man cannot get along together so at the proper time, if the wars don't destroy the population the world as we know it will end. Didn't the cavemen and dinosaurs disappear from their land; they probably had no warning about the disaster to come.

And don't rule out the possible destruction from the New Madrid fault. Having seen it in action twice myself here in our community, I don't even want to visualize what its full force could do and the devastation to be caused by this disaster.

And so it goes: We reap what we sow.
