SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - Hyundai Motor says net profit rose 38 percent in the third quarter as sales increased.
Hyundai said in a regulatory filing Thursday that it earned 1.35 trillion won ($1.2 billion) in the three months ended Sept. 30. The company earned 979.1 billion won in the same period last year.
The automaker said sales during the quarter rose 9 percent to 8.85 trillion won from 8.1 trillion won a year earlier.
The company is South Korea's largest automaker and is a major force in the global auto industry.
