Cole County expands fees payable with plastic

The Cole County Circuit Clerk announced this week that the circuit court will begin accepting credit and debit card payments for civil filing fees, probate filing fees, juvenile filing fees and costs for copy requests.

Last week the courts announced they would begin credit and debit card payments for criminal court costs, fines, parking tickets that are issued by the Capital Police, treatment program fees and bond forfeitures .

These can either be presented in person at the court- house or citizens can call the clerk's criminal division at 634-9173, civil division at 634-9151, probate division at 634-9177 or juvenile division at 761-3641.

The court will accept Visa and MasterCard branded debit cards. The court will also accept: Discover, American Express and Master Card credit cards. No VISA credit cards will be accepted. A processing fee will be charged by the provider for this service which will be included in your payment transaction. There will be a $1 convenience fee charged for any transaction processed under $50 and a 2.75 percent convenience fee charged for any transaction processed over $50.
