Ambulance number shows up on Missouri political calls

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. (AP) - The Adair County Ambulance District has been inundated with phone calls after its telephone number was linked to an automatic political call.

Kirksville television station KTVO reports that the caller ID on the political calls incorrectly shows they are coming from the ambulance district.

Ambulance district admininstrator Larry Burton says employees have spent hours talking with concerned citizens.

One of the calls asks voters to support Democratic state Rep. Rebecca McClanahan in order to advance President Barack Obama's agenda.

McClanahan says she has nothing to do with the calls.

Her Republican opponent, Zachary Wyatt, also denies being involved with the calls.
