St. Louis insurance company to get state aid

FENTON, Mo. (AP) - A St. Louis area insurance company is pledging to add 100 jobs in exchange for state incentives.

Gov. Jay Nixon says Missouri has awarded more than $2 million of tax incentives and job training funds to Liberty Mutual Group and its subsidiary, Safeco Insurance.

Liberty Mutual and Safeco plan to add 100 full-time jobs over the next two years, with average salaries of $52,000 annually. Safeco already employs 340 people in the St. Louis region.

The company also plans an investment in a 55,000-square-foot facility that will be leased near Fenton.
