Jefferson City: Trash rates to rise in November
Thursday, October 28, 2010
Jefferson City officials announced Wednesday in a news release that rates for Allied Waste customers will increase beginning in November.
According to the press release, the annual cost-of-living increase will be 2 percent for residents and 5 percent for commercial and industrial customers.
The city amended its contract in September to correct the number of households served and the amount Allied Waste will pay each year.

No suprise here..greedy jerks. They already raised our rates when the new "mandatory" service went into effect. Cost of living increase? No one else is getting a cost of living increase in their pay..Social security recipients didn't even get one this year. So tired of costs going continually up, but take home pay is not. How is this fair?

Doesn't matter, the residents are gonna throw this mandatory service out in April. Allied, you should really be thinking about PR between now and then. A mandatory rate hike with no raise in the level of service isn't gonna help your image, and the voters will remember being squeezed like this.
Seriously, what costs 2% more? Have gas prices gone up? Is everyone getting a 2% raise? Or is this simply for profit?

I'd sure like to know what kind of benefits and kickbacks City Hall is getting out of the Allied contract.

Like was already said, nobody else is getting a cost of living raise. Salaries aren't going up, yet we are FORCED to pay more for less? These corrupt polititians in JC are lining their pockets before they are ousted I think.
