The Jefferson City Jays got the start they wanted, just not the ending.

"The way we played at the beginning of the game was what we were looking for," Jays coach Eddie Horn said after Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Rockhurst Hawklets at the 179 Soccer Park. "But after that, things went downhill."

Wednesday's junior varsity game ended scoreless. The Jays end the JV season at 9-6-4.
