Missouri authorities find hunter's body in river

ALTON, Ill. (AP) - Searchers of the Mississippi River north of St. Louis have found the body of a duck hunter who went missing Monday after the boat he occupied with another man was capsized by a wave.

The Missouri Water Patrol and Coast Guard found the 26-year-old victim's body after the boat overturned near the Alton, Ill., river bridge. The man was not immediately identified.

St. Charles County authorities say the victim and another man were floating Monday afternoon in a fishing boat loaded with tree branches for camouflage when the accident happened. The other man managed to swim to a nearby island and was rescued.
