POTOSI, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE) --Oct. 20, 2010-- The Purcell Tire and Rubber Company announced today the purchase of a new truck tire center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. This acquisition expands the company's long-standing commitment in the Cape Girardeau market, where it has operated a retail/commercial facility for over 25 years.
The new 27,000-square-foot facility is conveniently located in the fast growing city of Jackson, Missouri, which is just north of the Cape Girardeau metro area. The location's easy access off Interstate 55, as well as its five-acre circle drive, allows easy entrance and exit for all trucks.
Purcell Tire will continue to operate both Cape Girardeau facilities while offering its customers an expanded list of quality products and services. The expanded warehouse space allows Purcell Tire to offer additional sizes and types of tires ranging from small to industrial to the largest off-the-road tires made today, all from leading tire manufacturers in the industry such as Goodyear, Dunlop, Michelin, Hankook, Titan, and Kelly, with whom Purcell Tire proudly partners. Additionally, Purcell Tire will offer quality tire retreading (both truck and off-the-road.) This road-proven process allows Purcell's commercial customers a cost-effective way to manage their fleet and protect the environment.
The expanded facility makes several new services available. A state-of-the-art computerized truck alignment system has been installed. Powered by Hunter Engineering, this system allows proper alignment of large, commercial truck suspension systems. Proper alignment decreases tire wear, which extends the life of tires and suspension parts. Further, Purcell Tire will now offer annual DOT inspections, as well as an expanded menu of commercial and retail mechanical services, including large truck oil and fluid changes. The new facility will also provide 24-hour roadside tire service to get customers back on the road quickly.
