Hearing set for couple charged in southeast Missouri stabbing

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a couple accused in the stabbing death of a southeast Missouri man.

Allen and Angela McCoy are charged with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in the August killing of Aubrey Lee Finch. The 67-year-old victim was found stabbed to death inside his home in Bernie.

Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney Briney Welborn has said he will be seeking the death penalty in the case. The Dexter Daily Statesman reports that the McCoys have a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 7.

The McCoys are being held in Stoddard County without bond.
