Jays set to host winless Trojans

Perhaps in this game more than ever, it really does need to be about the Jefferson City Jays more than who they're playing.

"Especially this time of year, that's very true," coach Ted LePage said as the Jays (4-3) get set to host the Troy Trojans (0-7) in the Class 6 District 6 opener at 7 p.m. Friday at Adkins Stadium.

"Everybody's 0-0 ... all eyes are set on Troy, you don't control your own destiny in the playoffs if you don't keep winning. I know that's an old cliche', but it's so true.
