Local woman held for stabbing acquaintance

A Jefferson City man was treated Tuesday afternoon for a non-life-threatening stab wound, and a Jefferson City woman was taken into custody for allegedly committing the act.

Police reported the incident occurred around 4 p.m., at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Jefferson Street.

Initial reports indicated the man and woman were acquaintances and had gotten into an argument over some property.

Sometime during the argument, the female stabbed the man in the shoulder area.

The man, who was walking and talking with police following the incident, was taken to a local hospital.

Police did not release names of those involved pending the filing of formal charges.
