Robinson aquitted of burglary, assault

A Cole County jury last week found a Jefferson City man not guilty of charges he burglarized a home and sexually assaulted a woman in November 2008.

According to court records, jurors deliberated approximately five hours on Sept. 30 before finding Martez Robinson, 34, of 516 E. Ashley St., not guilty of first-degree burglary and sexual assault.

The trial began Sept. 29.

A police probable cause statement reported the incident occurred at a residence in the 700 block of Walsh Street, in the early morning hours of Nov. 6, 2008.

The victim claimed Robinson opened a window to her children's bedroom, entered the residence and forced her to have sexual contact with him.
