Kirksville osteopathic college mulls dental school

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. (AP) -- A northern Missouri college of osteopathic medicine may open a dental school that would specialize in serving rural residents.

A.T. Still University of Health Sciences is considering southern California, central Florida and its hometown of Kirksville for the school. University officials hope to complete a feasibility study by February and open a new facility in three years.

The new school would be modeled after the University's Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa. School leaders have support for a Kirksville location from health center associations in Missouri, Kansas and nine other states.
