YOUR OPINION: Freedom and smoking

Dear Editor:

I'm tired of reading facts from "experts" of how dangerous tobacco is. The number one fact to remember is that we aren't going to live forever anyhow.

About 100 years is all humans are allowed to live even with the healthiest of lifestyles. Let people enjoy their life. We can protect ourselves without restricting others.

I just returned from Italy and it seems they are more free to do as they please there than we are here in America.

If we keep voting freedoms out the window, what will be left for us to sing about at the next July 4 event downtown at the Capitol?

Just eat out at a smoke free facility and let the others enjoy the places they like to go to. More restaurants and bars in town are already smoke free anyhow.

The freedoms we have were bought for us at an extremely high price. Vote no on the smoking ban.
