WARRENTON, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders freshman B team captured first place by going 4-0 Saturday at the Warrenton Freshman "A' Tournament.
Helias (8-0-1) posted win over Lutheran St. Charles (25-10, 25-18) and Sullivan (25-9, 25-18) in pool play.
In the bracket portion of the tournament, Helias defeated Fort Zumwalt East 20-25, 25-14, 15-7 in the semfinals before winning the title with a 23-25, 27-25, 15-10 win over Lutheran St. Charles in the championship match.
Abbey Verslues led the way with 16 kills, 12 aces, five blocks and six digs in the tournament. Hayley Strope chipped in with 33 assists, 19 aces, 13 kills and 17 digs. Lauren Brune had 56 digs, while Rachel Kleffner had 16 digs.
