There's less on the line than in the past, but there will still be plenty to play for when Lincoln University and Newman University square off in a men's and women's basketball doubleheader today at Jason Gym.

The schools are no longer rivals in the Heartland Conference, as this season marks the return of Lincoln to the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. But there will still be plenty of storylines in the twinbill.

When the men take to the court at 4:30 p.m., Lincoln will be looking to boast a winning record for the first time this season. The Blue Tigers dropped their season opener before beating Illinois-Springfield 76-68 last Saturday.

When the women tip off at 7 p.m., Lincoln will be looking to end the non-conference portion of its schedule with a win.

The Blue Tigers will bring a mark of 1-2 into the game, while the Jets are cruising along at 5-1, with their only loss coming to Pittsburg State.
