Red and Black wins newspaper award

The Jefferson City High School Red and Black newspaper was named one of the top 10 high school newspapers in the nation Nov. 12 by the National Scholastic Press Association/Journalism Education Association.
Competing in the Best of Show competition at the national journalism convention in Kansas City, Red and Black placed seventh overall in the large school division.
More than 5,000 student-journalists from 4,800 high school newspapers attended and competed at the convention.
Julie Blankenship is editor of Red and Black. Karen Ray is the faculty adviser.

Woohoo!! The Red & Black was a great paper back when I was at JC and by golly, it still is!! Way to go!!
