UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) -Jakub Voracek scored a rebound goal 2:31 into overtime to lift the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 4-3 victory on Wednesday night and send the New York Islanders to their 14th straight loss.
Antoine Vermette, Chris Clark and R.J. Umberger also scored for Columbus, which has won five straight. It is the Blue Jackets' best run since a five-game streak from Dec. 2-12, 2006.
The Islanders, 0-11-3 in their past 14 games, scored more than two goals for the first time in 12 contests and earned a point at home for the first time since Oct. 12. This is New York's longest stretch without a win since a 14-game skid in which the Islanders lost 11 times and tied three others between Feb. 13-March 15, 1990.
Trent Hunter, Michael Grabner and John Tavares scored and Rick DiPietro made 34 saves for the Islanders.
Penguins 1, Sabres 0
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Marc-Andre Fleury made 30 saves and Pascal Dupuis scored in the first period to give Pittsburgh a victory over Buffalo.
Fleury recorded his 17th NHL shutout and first of the season. Five have been 1-0 victories.
Dupuis scored with 4:56 left in the period. Sidney Crosby stole the puck from Luke Adam in the right corner and fed Dupuis, who one-timed a shot past goalie Jhonas Enroth.
Pittsburgh has won four straight and has earned at least one point in seven consecutive contests.
Enroth made 28 saves in place of Ryan Miller, who is still sidelined by a groin injury.
Devils 2, Flames 1 OT
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Johan Hedberg stopped all three shots in a shootout, and Ilya Kovalchuk scored the only goal as New Jersey beat Calgary for its first winning streak of the season.
David Clarkson netted the Devils' only goal in regulation as New Jersey spoiled the return of former coach Brent Sutter, who now is in charge of the Flames.
Rene Bourque scored for Calgary, which lost its fifth straight road game.
Hedberg, who shut out Washington in a 5-0 win on Monday, stopped Niklas Hagman, Alex Tanguay and Brendan Morrison in the shootout.
Kovalchuk, who didn't record a shot in regulation, beat Swedish rookie Henrik Karlsson on the Devils' first attempt.
Capitals 3, Hurricanes 2
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Brooks Laich scored a power-play goal on a deflection with 7:58 left and Washington snapped a three-game losing streak by beating Carolina.
Alex Ovechkin had three assists, and Nicklas Backstrom scored two goals for the Southeast Division-leading Capitals. They blew a 2-0 lead in the third period but regrouped in time to avoid their first four-game slide in more than a year.
Sergei Samsonov and Eric Staal scored 4:01 apart in the third period to pull the Hurricanes even at 2.
Ovechkin went without a goal for the fifth straight game, his longest drought of the season, and he hasn't scored against Carolina in eight consecutive games - his worst stretch against any team.
Semyon Varlamov, in his first appearance since Oct. 21, stopped 30 shots for Washington.
Thrashers 5, Red Wings 1
ATLANTA (AP) - Andrew Ladd scored a short-handed goal and defenseman Dustin Byfuglien added a power-play tally to help Atlanta win its third straight game.
Anthony Stewart, Chris Thorburn and Bryan Little also scored for Atlanta, and Ondrej Pavelec won his third consecutive start, stopping 32 of 33 shots.
Todd Bertuzzi scored for Detroit. The Western Conference-leading Red Wings have a two-game road losing streak, but have won eight of 11 overall.
Detroit coach Mike Babcock pulled goalie Jimmy Howard after two periods, replacing him with Joey MacDonald. Howard, who stopped 26 of 30 shots, lost in regulation for the second time in 30 regular-season starts, dating to last season.
Canadiens 4, Kings 1
MONTREAL (AP) - Andrei Kostitsyn had a goal and an assist, and Carey Price made 24 saves to lead Montreal over Los Angeles.
Price, the starter in all but one of Montreal's 22 games, has 13 wins to match his total from last season.
Lars Eller scored his first goal in 21 games with Montreal late in the second to put the Canadiens up by three. Michael Cammalleri and Tomas Plekanec also scored for Montreal, which has won six of eight.
Alec Martinez scored his first NHL goal in his season debut for Los Angeles, which has lost five of six after a 12-3 start.
Jonathan Bernier made 29 saves in his seventh start of the season. The Montreal native fell to 0-5 on the road.
Stars 2, Senators 1
OTTAWA (AP) - Brenden Morrow scored the go-ahead goal at 1:13 of the third period, Andrew Raycroft made 18 saves, and Dallas topped Ottawa.
Trevor Daley also scored to help Dallas snap a four-game road losing streak.
Ryan Shannon scored for Ottawa, which has lost four of five.
Pascal Leclaire made 24 saves for the Senators.
Lightning 5, Rangers 3
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Steven Stamkos scored his NHL-leading 21st goal and had two assists, and Tampa Bay stretched its winning streak to five by beating the New York Rangers.
Stamkos also has 17 assists for a league-leading 38 points in 22 games. The center has had a point in all but three games.
Ryan Malone added two goals for the Lightning. He entered with just three goals in 33 previous games against the Rangers.
New York, which had won five of seven, got third-period goals from Steve Eminger, Brian Boyle and Derek Stepan after falling behind 5-0. The Rangers went more than 15 minutes without a shot from late in the first period until well into the second, and were outshot 25-7 through 40 minutes.
New York goalie Henrik Lundqvist (7-8-1) had another rough night in his return to the net.

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Mark Recchi scored two third-period goals to become the 13th NHL player to reach 1,500 career points and helped Boston rally past Florida.
Brad Marchand scored a short-handed goal and Tim Thomas stopped 31 shots as the Bruins won for the eighth time in 10 road games. Thomas improved to 11-1-1.
Tomas Vokoun, whose mishandling of the puck led to Marchand's short-handed goal 8 seconds into the third period, made 34 saves. Steve Reinprecht scored for Florida, which lost for the first time in nine games in which it led after two periods.
Flyers 6, Wild 1
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Danny Briere, Ville Leino and Andreas Nodl each had a goal and an assist, and Philadelphia routed Minnesota.
James van Riemsdyk, Jeff Carter and Jody Shelley also scored for Philadelphia, 12-2-1 in its past 15 games. The Flyers, tied with Washington atop the NHL standings with 32 points, entered with a league-best 3.5 goals per game. They have scored 39 in the past eight games.
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 15 shots for his 12th win, one behind league-leading Carey Price of Montreal.
Patrick O'Sullivan had the lone goal for Minnesota.
Blues 2, Predators 1 SO
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Andy McDonald scored 9 seconds into the game and in the fifth round of the shootout to send St. Louis over Nashville.
After losing five straight, the Blues have won three in a row. The Predators have dropped two in a row.
Jerred Smithson drew the Predators into a 1-1 tie 22 seconds into the second period.
No one scored in the first four rounds of the shootout.
In the fifth round, McDonald slipped a backhand through the pads of Pekka Rinne. Sergei Kostitsyn was Nashville's fifth shooter, but his wrist shot hit the post next to Jaroslav Halak, giving the Blues the win.
St. Louis finished with just 15 shots through overtime.
Blackhawks 5, Sharks 2
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Antti Niemi made 30 saves in his first game against the Chicago Blackhawks since leading them to the Stanley Cup championship last season to help the San Jose Sharks snap a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory on Wednesday night.
Patrick Marleau scored twice and Dany Heatley, Joe Pavelski and Jamal Mayers added goals to help the Sharks gain a small measure of revenge after being swept out of the Western Conference finals by Niemi and the Blackhawks six months ago.
