Holts Summit man dies in crash

A Holts Summit man was killed in a fiery, single-vehicle accident early Wednesday morning in Jefferson City.

According to police reports, the accident occurred at about 4 a.m. in the 1700 block of U.S. 54 East at the Katy Trail Overpass.

Officers determined that William Duncan, 50, was traveling eastbound on 54 when he ran off the left side of the roadway and into the median.

Duncan continued to travel in the median until he vaulted off the embankment at the overpass and came to rest on the trail itself.

After impact. the vehicle caught fire and burned completely.
