Girl, 7, injured in Columbia parade accident

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - A 7-year-old girl has been hospitalized in Columbia after being run over by a trailer during a holiday parade.

Police said Shianne Nesmith of Columbia was in stable condition Sunday after she was pulled under a church float in the parade. Nesmith was a part of the church's parade entry.

Police said the child approached the 6-by 8-foot trailer to get more coins that other participants were handing out when her clothing got caught on the trailer.

Police said the trailer tire ran over her, injuring her on her left side.
