Jefferson City school board settles surtax issue

Jefferson City’s public schools will receive $11,362.68 less in surtax payments from Cole County this year, to settle its part in the ongoing issue of the county’s using the wrong formula for the last two decades.

With little discussion, the district’s seven-member school board approved a resolution agreeing to its share of the overpayments.
