U.S. Capitol tree to make stop in area Sunday

The Christmas tree that will be used at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., will be making its way through Mid-Missouri this weekend.

The tree is expected to be in Columbia on Sunday, with a viewing scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m. for the public at the Holiday Inn Select Executive Center.

The tree is an Engelmann spruce measuring 67 feet and was taken from the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming.
