Mediation training for students set Thursday

Selected students from all of the Cole County schools that participate in Characterplus will receive peer mediation training on Thursday at the Jefferson City High School Library Media Center.

Each of the participating Cole County schools will send between 10 and 15 students for training.

Peer mediation provides students with the skills to assist in conflict resolution.

Ideally, when students encounter peers who are struggling with anger issues, moral dilemmas, cultural differences or potential criminal activity, they will be able to help them work through the problem before it becomes a bigger issue.
