Opera Software back in black on higher sales in 3Q

OSLO, Norway (AP) - Stronger sales helped Opera Software ASA post a 20.2 million kroner ($3.4 million; 2.5 million) net profit in the third quarter.

That compares with a loss of 12.8 million kroner in the same period last year.

The Norwegian company says revenue was 178 million kroner, up 32 percent from a year ago.

Opera's browser is the fifth most popular browser, though its share is tiny compared to Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

Opera said Monday it has more than 140 million active users worldwide.
