Mid-Missouri pastor honored

On Nov. 7, members of St. John¹s Lutheran Church in Schubert and St. John's Lutheran Church in Babbtown honored their pastor, the Rev. Gerald Scheperle, for 30 years of service.

About 200 people attended the surprise celebration in his honor. The two churches were his call for service out of the seminary, and he's turned down other churches to stay there for the past three decades. The congregations have donated a stained glass window to the church in Scheperle's honor.

Scheperle plans to continue as pastor at the churches.
