The council needs to put the brakes on the Rasmussen/Lanwhere Convention Center. In this economy with such a dismal occupancy rate of existing motels, the last thing we need to spend tax dollars on is another motel and convention facility to compete with the privately-funded existing businesses.

This public convention center would surely drive Truman motel out of business, and put a severe strain on other local businesses who are trying to recoup their private investments.

This Conf-Center things is such a joke. Everything about it is a loss. The planed location, the design, the funding, it's all a joke. The people supporting this idea are really.....out of touch with reality...and that's a darn shame! Ya can't blame this mess on the Democrats, the Tea Party, the Republicans or Pres.Obama...no sir, this mess belongs to a Rasmussen and the rest of the JC Council. Somebody please help us!
