Capital Region Home Health marks Home Care Month

November is National Home Care Month. During this time Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City joins the National Association for Home Care & Hospice in paying tribute to the dedicated families, friends and home care professionals who inspired this year's theme: "Compassionate Health Care Delivered to Your Doorstep."

Through technological advances, homedelivered health care has grown far beyond basic professional nursing and home care aide services. Today's modern home care offers a wealth of nursing, therapy, pharmacy, home medical supplies and equipment and personal care.

Home care services are paid for by public and private sources, or directly by patients and their families. Third-party payers include commercial insurance, managed care organizations, CHAMPUS, and workers' compensation. Medicare and state-run Medicaid are significant payers, often driving the payment agenda for commercial insurance. Despite massive cutbacks in government funding, home care continues to be the preferred means of receiving quality health care services for millions of Americans.

Capital Region's Home Health Agency provides comprehensive in-home health and supportive services to our community for patients in every stage of life from infants to older adults.
