Prop. B called first step against livestock farming

Farm Bureau head also says reputable breeders will suffer

Missouri's 1,451 commercial dog breeders have a year to comply with new regulations enacted by voters on Tuesday, but debate continues on how the law will affect the industry.

Farm Bureau President Charles Kruse claims Proposition B is not going to affect the bad breeders, who aren't licensed.

He fears that the proposition is the first step in a broader plan to use ballot initiatives to restrict livestock agriculture, such as confined feeding operations.
