Baker named new St. Louis magistrate judge

ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis is getting a new federal magistrate judge.

Nannette Baker has served since 2004 on the Missouri Court of Appeals' Eastern District. On the federal bench, she'll replace Audrey Fleissig, who served as a magistrate judge for nine years before being appointed as a federal district judge.

Following a federal background check, Baker will serve chiefly in St. Louis. She'll also have some duties at federal courts in Cape Girardeau and Hannibal.

Baker is a former St. Louis television reporter who served as a St. Louis circuit judge for five years.
