Skelton set to keynote annual LU ROTC Veterans Day Breakfast

U.S. Rep. Ike Skelton once again will deliver the keynote address at the annual Lincoln University Army ROTC Veterans Day breakfast to honor the service of local veterans.

The "Blue Tiger Battalion" has hosted the breakfast since 1987, and Skelton has been its guest speaker for each of the 24 years.

"I am honored to continue this outstanding tradition," says Lt. Col. Patrick Kent, head of Lincoln's Military Science Department, said in a news release.

"We host this breakfast to pay tribute to the veterans of all armed services."

As in past years, the breakfast begins at 7 a.m. Thursday, in the Scruggs University Center on the Jefferson City campus. Mid-Missourians, especially the region's veterans, are invited to attend.

The cost of the breakfast is $10 per person and reservations are required. Individuals must RSVP before Monday, by calling 573/681-5346.
