JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) — The Joplin City Council has voted to seek the resignation of the city’s public defender.

The Joplin Globe reports that the city council voted unanimously in a closed session to ask public defender Tom Mann to resign. City Attorney Brian Head revealed the vote Friday. He did not give a reason for the forced resignation.
