Police investigate armed robbery at cleaners

Jefferson City police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Friday evening at Concord Cleaners, 104 E. McCarty St.

According to police reports, officers were called around 5:35 p.m. The victim, a Hartsburg resident, reported she had been robbed at gunpoint.

The victim said she was preparing to close the store when an unknown male subject entered the rear of the business.

The man displayed a handgun and ordered her into the rear of the store.

The victim was ordered to open the store safe, and the suspect took the contents of the safe and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim could only describe the suspect as a male, wearing all black clothing and a black mask.
