Church to put on mystery

Guests will be greeted and seated by a suave French garcon at the "fashionable Cafe Flambe" Nov. 12-13 as Wesley United Methodist Church in Jefferson City produces "The Case of the Mysterious Benefactor."

The interactive dinner theater is a first-time venture for the church's missions team as a fundraiser for the P.E.T. (Personal Energy Transportation) mission project.

The Columbia-based P.E.T. Project Mission provides handcranked wheelchairs for those without the ability to walk in underdeveloped countries.

For 75 audience members each night, dinner will be served promptly at 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin after 7 p.m. The three-course meal will include salad, choice of pasta and cheesecake.

Susan Williams directs this Brian Bopp comedy mystery, produced by special arrangement with Contemporary Drama Services.

Several of the cafe's patrons will receive mysterious gifts during the course of the show, said missions chairman Kathy Boyer. Guests will have the opportunity to guess who the benefactor is for a chance at door prizes.

Tickets are $20 and are available by e-mailing [email protected] or visiting www.wesleyumcjc.org.
