School bus accident injures 11 near St. Louis

ARNOLD, Mo. (AP) - The top administrator of a suburban St. Louis school district says 11 students were injured when their school bus was hit from behind by a pickup truck.

Fox School District Superintendent Dianne Brown says the Clyde Hamrick Elementary School students sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons. Both drivers also were injured in the accident Monday.

Jefferson County authorities say the bus was stopped to allow a student to board when the pickup truck hit the back of the bus.

KSDK reported 18 students were on the bus at the time.

There's no immediate word on whether the pickup truck's driver was ticketed.
